We are one of the only programs that has more clinical hours. The first week you are observing actual dental procedures and the 2nd week you are at the chair working with the doctor on patients. You have almost 3 months of working with patients not like 1 week or 6 weeks at other dental assistant courses. There are about 5 hours each class day that is hands-on. We have found that most people do better and enjoy it more when the class has a on-the -job training type feeling.

This is a partially module-based course, requiring a self-motivated and directed student with the commitment and tenacity to see it through to completion. Students are expected to complete their assignments weekly, be present for the demonstrations and procedures as well as weekly exams, which are usually done in the mornings of class. Students will start assisting Dr. Burton in the afternoons the second week of class until they graduate or secure a position. We believe that students learn faster when actually participating with the same dentist. Our students are NOT sent to other dental offices for the majority of their dental auxiliary training. They will only go to specialty offices (oral surgeons, periodontists, endodontists, etc) for a half a day to observe the different dental specialties. Students will complete a text of over 31 chapters, 11 exams, learn over thousands of new words, know over hundreds of different instruments and dental procedures. This career requires one to be able to complete multiple tasks at one time. We will help each student learn all that they can provide they study daily and have a desire to learn. Students will enjoy be apart of an office staff. During lunch Dr. Burton along with her staff meet informally with the students and discuss the progress and needs they may have. We celebrate birthdays, holidays, and have several potlucks. Our students become apart of our dental office family. Even though students are learning we still put the patient's care and comfort as our utmost concern. The student's attitude will be professional, pleasing, compassionate and caring at all times. There are other short programs but they only have about 1 week or less than 35 hours of clinical training. This course provides almost 300 hours and makes a student feel somewhat experienced before applying for a job. |

|
This course spans over 300 hours of clinical "hands on" experience. MOST STUDENTS HAVE JOBS BEFORE THE 3 MONTHS ARE OVER! There is a very high demand for trained dental auxiliaries especially if they are bilingual.
|
Classes are limited to 5 students to insure more individual attention. Dr. Burton must interview each individual before being accepted into the class. We are taking applications now for the next course. The cost is about the same as a semester at a university but you will have a skill and a professional career in less time and not just semester hours. Students are also responsible for obtaining approved safety goggles, school supplies, white clinical shoes, uniforms and coats (one uniform will be a class color uniform), a watch with a second hand, and vaccines. Sometimes there are openings during the afternoon at which one of the students may want Dr. Burton to do some of their basic dental treatment, which will be free of charge. Class will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:15 until 6:30pm

| Please call us to set up for an interview today! Cost is equivalent to a semester of college and you will have a profession in 3 months not just credit hours. |
